July 31, 1931: "A 50-foot steel tower has been erected on the summit of Wolf Pinnacle, in Posey Hollow, by the national forestry service. The tower will be used for observation purposes by a fire guard who is to go on duty this fall." (Hope Star)

DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1952 (DAJ) THE STATION IS LOCATED ABOUT 10 MILES NORTHEAST OF MENA, ON A PROMINENT POINT KNOWN AS WOLF PINNACLE. IT IS A 4 LEGGED STEEL STRUCTURE, WITH AN ENCLOSED CABIN AT THE TOP AND APPROXIMATELY 90 FEET HIGH.
THE POINT INTERSECTED WAS THE CENTER OF THE TOWER.
TO REACH FROM THE INTERSECTION OF U.S. HIGHWAY 71 AND STATE HIGHWAY 8 IN MENA, GO NORTHERLY ON HIGHWAY 71 FOR 1.7 MILES TO THE JUNCTION OF HIGHWAYS 71 AND 88, KEEP LEFT ON HIGHWAY 71 FOR 3.7 MILES TO THE JUNCTION OF HIGHWAYS 270 AND 71, KEEP RIGHT ON HIGHWAYS 270 AND 71 FOR 5.85 MILES TO A FOREST SERVICE ROAD RIGHT AT SIGN WOLF PINNACLE. HERE TURN RIGHT ON FOREST ROAD FOR 4.6 MILES TO THE STATION.
