February 2, 1935: "Joseph Blake, superintendent of the Ellsinore CCC Camp, explained the work of the CCC boys are doing.
'All of the aqctual work of the Forest Service is done by the CCC boys,' said Blake 'and while the CCC organization may be temporary, the work it is doing is permanent. In the Wappapello Unit, Blake explained, are what is known as combination construction and forestry camps. The Ellsinore boys have erected a100 foot lookout tower." (Daily American Republic)
