June 4, 1936: "The Sugar Camp Tower, located in SE 1-4 SE 1-4, Section 15, Township 21, Range 27, of the Kings River Ranger District, is a steel structure 99 feet 9 inches high to the steel cabin.
This tower was completed May 27 by a crew of 15 men under the supervision of Foreman Hopkins, just eight days after construction was begun.
With the completion of this tower there are now two look-out towers erected and two more to be put up, construction on which will begin in the very near future." (Cassville Republican)

June 11, 1936: "Varner Ball and Orville Hodges are in charge of the look-out tower between Eagle Rock and Seligman. They are going to install a short wave broadcasting system soon." (Cassville Republican)
February 11, 1937: "The Forestry service has planned the building of a road for its use from the fire tower south of the State park to a point south of Eagle Rock. This piece of road work is expected to be completed this spring." (Cassville Republican)
