September 30, 1957: "Henry Lee Price has joined the Texas Forest Service at Jefferson lookout tower as crewleader for the Jefferson Crew Area. Mr. Price is a native of Hopkins county and is the husband of the Home Demonstration Agent for Marion county.
Mr. Price is taking the place of Louie D. Dodson, who resigned due to illness. He will have all charge of the fire fighting equipment which consist of truck and crawler tractor.
He will also make fire prevention contacts and do other phases of educational work. His district is composed of approximately 150,000 acres." (The Marshall News Messenger)

THE STATION IS LOCATED ABOUT 1.5 MILES WEST-NORTHWEST OF
JEFFERSON. IT HAS A GLASS ENCLOSED CAB SUPPORTED BY A 4-LEGGED
STEEL STRUCTURE AND HAS AN OVER-ALL HEIGHT OF ABOUT 100 FEET.
IT IS PAINTED GRAY IN COLOR. THE TOP AND CENTER WAS THE
POINT INTERSECTED.
TO REACH FROM THE JUNCTION OF U.S. HIGHWAY 59 AND STATE HIGHWAY
49 IN THE NORTHWEST SECTION OF JEFFERSON, GO 1.4 MILES ON
STATE HIGHWAY 49 TO A SIDE ROAD LEFT, TURN LEFT AND GO 0.1
MILE TO STATION ON THE RIGHT.
