March 3, 1985: "Belah Fire Tower will be one of many firetowers in north Louisiana which will no longer be manned after July 1, according to State Forester Mike Mety. But some crews say they expect to be watching for fires from the towers even after the change. Belah is 120 feet tall and a steep climb." (The Town Talk)
