June 15, 1973: "Deputies were investigating the vandalism and burglary of Luna Fire Tower in West Monroe. Officials reported that intruders tore down the fence which surrounded the tower, ripped several maps inside the tower and took an electric fan and Bible. The incident was reported around 10:30 a.m. today. No additional information was available pending further investigation." (The Monroe News-Star)

LOCATED ABOUT 2.4 MILES NORTH-NORTHWEST OF LUNA, 12 MILES EAST-SOUTHEAST OF EROS, 1 MILE WEST OF STATE HIGHWAY 557, IN SECTION 23. T 16 N. R 2 E..
