October 31, 1949: "Forest Towerman's Wife Dies in Auto Crash:: Mrs. C. W. Larramore, wife of a Forest Service towerman stationed near Bunker, Mo., was killed in an automobile crash two miles east of Bunker on Highway 72 last Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. W.L. Lane of McMinnville, Tenn. suffered the loss of both legs in the accident.
They were riding in a pickup truck driven by Mrs. Helen Hitchcock, daughter of Mrs. Lane. Mrs. Hitchcock suffered minor cuts and bruises." (Rolla Herald)

SERVICE LOOKOUT TOWER, A STEEL STRUCTURE 110 FEET HIGH WITH
AN ENCLOSED OBSERVATION PLATFORM ON TOP. THE TOWER IS LOCATED
4 MILES SOUTHWEST OF BUNKER.
