1945-1946: The 'Official Manuel of the State of Missouri' indicates the towersite is owned by the Missouri Conservation Commission and is 160 acres in size.
1949-50 FY: “Daniel Boone Tower was replaced with a 60-foot steel tower.” (Report of the Missouri Conservation Commission)\
August 29, 1950: "Work has just been completed by the Forestry Division of the Conservation Commission, on a new steel lookout tower, 70 feet tall, located on the Daniel Boone Memorial Forest on the Big Four Road, 7 miles southwest of Jonesburg.
The cab on top of this tower is 14 ft by 14 ft. with a 4 ft. cat walk around the edge, this cab being larger than any other in this territory.
This tower is placed in the center of the Daniel Boone Memorial Forest, a tract of land on the main ridge between Masses Creek and Bear Creek, consisting of approximately 2500 acres given to the Conservation Commission by A.P. Greensfelder of St. Louis, for the primary purpose of good forest management and recreation.
Hurley Baker is towerman in charge of the lookout tower. This tower is open during the day Monday through Saturday of each week. However, it can be opened at any time upon request. Signs are placed at various points along the road to show location of the tower.
The purpose of this tower is to provide fire protection for the Daniel Boone area. This tower provides a good view of the hills and breaks of the Missouri River to the south and as far north as Highway 40, which is approximately 75,000 acres or 80 square miles." (St. Charles Daily Cosmos-Monitor)

September 11, 1950: "A 70-foot steel lookout has been erected in the center of the Daniel Boone Memorial Forest on the Big Four road, seven miles southwest of Jonesburg. It is for fire protection of the 2,500-acre area, but visitors are welcome. The Warrenton Banner reports the tower affords a good view of the hills and breaks of the Missouri river to the south, and as far north as U.S. highway 40, an area of approximately 75,000 acres." FY1975-76: "New overhead doors were installed on the garage at the Daniel Boone tower site. Also, a new roof was installed the garage at the Daniel Boone Tower site." (Missouri Department of Conservation Annual Report)

THE STATION IS THE FINIAL AT TOP CENTER OF THE ROOF OF THE FOREST
LOOKOUT TOWER LOCATED IN THE DANIEL BOONE MEMORIAL FOREST. THE
TOWER IS OF STEEL CONSTRUCTION, ABOUT 125 FT HIGH, WITH OBSERVATION
CAB ON TOP AND WITH STEEL WALKWAY AROUND THE BASE OF THE CAB. THE
TOWER IS LOCATED ABOUT IN THE CENTER OF THE W. HALF OF SEC. 5, T.
46 N, R. 4 W., ABOUT 50 FT NW. OF THE CENTER OF THE GRAVEL RD.
