LOUISIANA LOOKOUTS
HICO
Lincoln Parish
November 8, 1955: "Two extra men are being employed by the Lincoln Parish unit of the Louisiana Forestry Commission to man the Hico fire tower 24 hours a day during Exercise Sage Brush.
Frank Gibson, forester in charge, said that the two men would go on duty as soon as Army authorities give the go-sign. This precaution is being taken in the effort to keep down loss of valuable timber from forest fires as the tens of thousands of Army and Air Force men engage in the war games." (Ruston Daily Leader)
