April 12, 1957: "The legend behind the stone house lookout is that in 1906, a gambler from Memphis built a house on this point from lumber and materials hauled from Saint Louis to Booneville and up to the mountain top in a four-mule wagon.
It was rebuilt by a physician in 1910 when the physician moved there for his health." (Camden News)
